I had several take aways from the conference such as the importance of teaching our kids how to foster and grow their character and a conscious effort to spread kindness in the world. #MakingKindnessNormal There are so many negative and ugly things being shared on the news and in the media. Conference attendees were challenged to start spreading good news because good things happen every day in the world.
The team that attended with me also brought back a rejuvenated energy and love for teaching and working with kids. They felt very positive taking the time to do this important work for our kids and the world that we hope to create. They began sharing with their students and entire grade level! #CharacterTsunami
I began to be flooded by people sharing the amazing things happening in our building whether the idea was initiated from individual kids, groups of kids, staff members, entire classes, and entire grade levels!
I decided to accept the challenge to start sharing out the good news and the Independence Good News on twitter was created! It gives me a sense of joy to have a vehicle like twitter to share out these wonderful things that our staff, students, and parents are doing every day for our school community to be the special place that it is. A magical kingdom….
